A free Christian denomination test
How can I find out which denomination fits my beliefs?
Start with what you believe about Scripture, baptism, Communion, salvation, and church authority. This Christian denomination test compares your answers with named representatives from ten tradition families, helping you see where your beliefs connect and where they differ.
Your result brings your views together, explains the leading comparisons when enough beliefs can be compared, and describes your worship preferences separately. Use it to understand the traditions worth reading about and the questions to bring to a church visit or conversation.

Christian Denomination Quiz FAQ
What Christian denomination am I?
Begin with what you believe about Scripture, baptism, Communion, salvation, and the Church. This quiz compares your answers with named representatives of ten Christian tradition families. With enough definite belief answers and source coverage, you receive up to three leading comparisons and reasons to explore them. Your own belief summary helps you see the views behind those results; your religious identity remains yours to describe.
Why do these denominations appear in my results?
They appear because of how your definite belief answers compare with documented representative teachings. Open a topic to see your answers, agreements, differences, and sources. Display order compares traditions on shared source positions; each full result’s percentage describes agreement on its own covered answers, so percentages may appear in a different order. Coverage shows how much can be compared. These percentages describe belief agreement, not the probability of your religious identity.
How can I understand the differences between Christian denominations?
Use the Christian denominations guide to explore nine belief themes and ten tradition families. It places their teachings alongside Bible passages, named church representatives, and primary sources, with explanations of differences within each family. Read it before or after the quiz, or on its own; saved quiz answers are not required.
Does my worship style determine which denomination fits me?
No. Your doctrinal answers determine the belief comparisons. Preferences for service order, music, participation, and atmosphere form a separate worship profile and never add points to a tradition. Use that profile to ask about a congregation’s actual services, since churches within the same tradition can worship in different ways.
What if I do not understand a belief or am still deciding?
Open “Help with this question”, then choose “I’m not sure what this means” or “I understand, but I’m still deciding” when appropriate. Both leave the belief open and outside agreement scores. Positions left unspecified by a representative source also remain outside the score. If there is too little information for a tradition comparison, you can still review your expressed beliefs and worship preferences, then revisit your questions.
Should I choose the 16-question or 36-question denomination quiz?
Choose 16 questions for a starting direction, or 36 for a fuller comparison. The quick version has 12 belief questions and four worship preferences. The full version has 28 belief questions across nine dimensions and eight worship preferences, with percentages and source coverage explained. After completing the quick version, keep all 16 answers and continue with the remaining 20 questions.
Is the Christian Denomination Quiz free?
Yes. The 16-question and 36-question versions, explained results, Christian denominations guide, and optional sharing are free. You can use them without an account, email address, or paid report.
Which Christian denominations does the quiz compare?
It compares ten tradition families: Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican / Episcopal, Lutheran, Reformed / Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist / Wesleyan, Pentecostal, Anabaptist / Mennonite, and Seventh-day Adventist. Each comparison names its representative church body or documents. Baptist sources include distinct Southern Baptist and Free Will Baptist representatives. These selected teachings give you a starting point for exploration; individual congregations and other Christian traditions may differ.
Can I use my result to find a church?
Use it to decide which traditions and questions to explore when getting to know a church. Read the congregation’s statement of faith, visit a service, and ask a pastor or trusted mentor about its teaching and community life. Your belief summary and worship profile can make those conversations more specific. The quiz does not select a local congregation for you.
Can I return to my answers, change them, or delete them?
When browser storage is available, your progress stays in this browser on this device. You can return, continue from quick to full, review and change answers, or delete your saved progress. Returning in a different browser or on another device will not bring those locally saved answers with you.
What is included when I share my results?
Sharing is optional. A share link contains a summary of the comparison mode, leading tradition comparisons, coverage, and the number of definite belief answers. It leaves out your original belief and worship answers. Anyone with the link can read the shared summary, so choose whether to share it and with whom.
